A Fun Busy Bee

February 11 & 12 were fun days at Pinjarra Patchwork & Quilters :)

A really wonderful aspect of our hobby is being able to share it with others in all sorts of ways. We recently had a busy bee to sew 'fidget blankets'. These blankets are a very portable item, with several safe attachments, to be a handy distraction for dementia patients when they are in the care of hospital emergency department staff. They can provide a calming occupation while their health needs are being attended. PPQ are proud to support one Perth hospital by making & donating these blankets, & yes we have a fun time making them!

Many thanks to our member Pam who organised our busy bee & delivers these items on our behalf.

2022 Has Begun

Pinjarra Patchwork & Quilters Club welcomes all visitors to their lovely building.

As always, many of our members furnish our shop with items for sale...including placemats & kitchens items, items for babies & children, wonderful bags & of course QUILTS QUILTS QUILTS!

We thank all visitors for complying with current WA Health Department public health measures.

If you are out & about in the Peel or Murray regions of WA, we'd love you to come in & see our wonderful display & member facilities.

The weather forecast is looking great, so make your way over to the pretty town of Pinjarra for the annual town Festival.

Here at Pinjarra Patchwork & Quilters, we've been preparing for this Festival weekend.
We've got a fantastic art quilt display... lots of handmade items available for purchase - large, small & everything in between... our annual Raffle... and various demonstrations of skills and techniques used in our hobby.

This is also a great way to learn more about our Club, so if you're looking for a group to join or perhaps want to learn some new aspects of the hobby, please do talk to one of our members when you're here. We are always open to new members.

We look forward to welcoming you to our Quilt House on the WA Day weekend!!

New Display at PPQ

If you visit PPQ during the Pinjarra Festival, you'll be treated to several displays, including our latest Club Challenge creations on the theme of 'Landscape'.
A 'challenge' gives members a chance to use their creativity, skill & ideas to create a piece, which is their own interpretation of the theme.
We are pleased to share these Landscapes with our visitors during the Festival and we hope you enjoy viewing them as much as we enjoyed creating them.

International Award Winner

Here at PPQ, we have so many talented ladies.
One of these ladies is our Club Secretary JOY, who was recently awarded
First Place in the annual Bunbury International Quilt Challenge.

Entrants in this long-running event used various fabrics & embellishments to create their piece, based on the theme 'Why I Love Where I Live'.
JOY titled her piece Fifty Shades Of Blue. It features a Splendid Wren perched on a tree branch. These wrens are seen in the area where JOY lives and she delights in seeing them in their full blue glory during breeding season each year.
This is the second year that JOY has won this coveted award; she also won it last year.

Please do come and visit us during the Pinjarra Festival weekend - 1 & 2 June.
Both of Joy's award-winning quilts will be on display and you can see for yourself just how SPLENDID they really are!
